SUSPENDED FOR THE SEASON

Walks on the Wild Side

Meet at the Mt. Baldy Visitor Center at 9:00 am on the first and third Wednesday of each month. Rain, snow, fire and temperatures above 90 degrees cancel

Walks will generally be on wide, level, not-too-steep fire roads; less than three miles round trip; about three hours long.

Return to the Visitor Center afterwards for cold or warm beverages provided by the forest service, your own lunch, and the fellowship of friendly walkers.

Things we’ll talk about: weather, wildflowers, plants, birds, animals, earthquakes, rocks, history, ruins, ghost stories, water, fire, rainfall, lizards, butterflies, trees, ladybugs, clouds, insects .....

Places we’ll go: Icehouse Canyon, San Antonio Falls, Bear Canyon, Hog Back, Sunset Ridge, Cascade Canyon, Lower San Antonio, Evey Canyon, old Baldy Road

Cost is $5 per person: These walks are intended as fund raisers to support the Mt. Baldy Environmental Education Program and all the money collected goes directly to their efforts. The naturalists who lead these walks are non-paid volunteers. You can be, too!
